Are you a Teaching assistant who is looking for a new challenge? Do you have experience working with secondary school children who have in some way struggled in mainstream schools?

We have an opportunity for you to work in a facility that provides alternative education. Helping students by supporting them to achieve their goals. Students who attend the PRU schools have previously had problems in mainstream schools resulting in exclusion. The staff at the school think it is extremely important to create strong and trustworthy bonds with pupils in order for them to feel comfortable whilst they are under their care. They aim to break down any barriers that students have had towards education and learning in the past. They work in small classes and have access to a number of great facilities including a state-of-the-art sports hall, fitness suites and 3D outdoor pitches.

  • The working hours are 8.30am–3.30pm (full-time)
  • Specialist provision- Wirral
  • Pay-£85-£100 daily

Parents have a great relationship with staff at the school and also reported that they are very approachable and support their children to the best of their ability. Many of the pupils experienced periods of absence in mainstream education, the attendance of many pupils has improved due to the affective strategies that the leadership have used.

The ideal candidate would be somebody who isn’t afraid to get stuck in and use their own initiative to help guide children who have built up barriers against education. The children may have ehcp’s in place in order for them to get the care and support they need. The ideal teaching assistant needs to be committed and dedicated to making strong connections with students and staff in order to deliver the best possible care and making sure that students are safe and comfortable in their environment.
