Job Advertisement: 1-1 Teaching Assistant – Alternative Provision (Wirral)

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in a young person's life? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1-1 Teaching Assistant to join the supportive and collaborative team in an alternative provision setting in the Wirral.

The Role
This full-time role involves providing one-to-one support to a student within a specialist setting. You will play a key part in helping the student overcome barriers to education, rebuild confidence, and achieve their personal and academic goals. This position offers the potential for a permanent role for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with the student, creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Offer tailored emotional and educational support to help the student re-engage with their education.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to ensure a consistent, effective approach to the student's development.
  • Encourage and motivate the student to achieve their goals, promoting progress in both personal and academic areas.

About You
The ideal candidate will:

  • Have prior experience working in an alternative provision setting (essential).
  • Demonstrate empathy, patience, and the ability to connect with young people.
  • Have experience working with children or young people with additional needs, including SEMH.
  • Be committed to fostering a nurturing and positive educational experience.
  • Work well as part of a team, contributing to the provision's supportive environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
