Job Opportunity: 1-1 Teaching Assistant (SEMH Provision)

A welcoming SEMH alternative provision in Liverpool is looking for a compassionate and dedicated 1-1 Teaching Assistant to join their team. This setting supports students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), providing a nurturing environment where they can grow, learn, and achieve their full potential.

The role focuses on offering individualized support to students, helping them overcome challenges and reach both academic and personal milestones. The ideal candidate will bring patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support young people, fostering trusting relationships that make a real difference.

Your Role Will Involve:

  • Delivering tailored 1-1 support to students with EHCPs, encouraging engagement and skill development.
  • Promoting a positive, nurturing atmosphere aligned with the school’s established behavior management practices.
  • Collaborating closely with teachers and other professionals to implement strategies that address individual student needs.
  • Monitoring progress and adapting support strategies to ensure students thrive.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEMH or similar setting.
  • A proactive, understanding, and flexible approach to supporting diverse needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Dedication to creating an inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
