About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic primary school team from January 2025. You will take a leading role in managing the school’s SEN Unit, working closely with pupils who have complex needs. This is a full-time position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the SEN Unit.
• Supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, fostering their development and well-being.
• Developing and implementing tailored learning strategies to meet individual pupil needs.
• Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress and adapting support plans as needed.
• Promoting a positive and nurturing atmosphere that inspires confidence and learning.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with complex needs.
• Strong understanding of strategies and interventions for supporting SEN pupils.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding practices.
• Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) is desirable.
• A valid DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
