SEN Teaching Assistant
Area: Hammersmith
Salary: Dependent on experience
Start: April 2025
Contract: Fulltime, Permanent

A highly reputable primary school in the Hammersmith area, rated GOOD by Ofsted, is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis from April 2025. This school is committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all students and requires an individual who shares the same vision and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Assist in the development and delivery of tailored learning plans to support individual progress.
  • Collaborate closely with the SENCO and class teachers to implement effective interventions and strategies.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students, ensuring their needs are met in accordance with the school's policies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where every student feels valued.
  • Support the emotional and social development of students, helping them build confidence and resilience.

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within a SEN context.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with a range of additional needs, including physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges.
  • Strong understanding of SEN and experience with different SEN provisions (e.g., autism, speech and language, dyslexia).
  • Ability to work well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both with staff and students.
  • A proactive and patient approach to supporting students in their learning journey.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
