The role:

As a Science Teacher at the school, you will play a crucial role in inspiring our students to explore the wonders of the natural world and develop a strong foundation in scientific knowledge. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum, fostering a curiosity-driven approach to learning, and ensuring that students reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Science lessons to students at [key stage or age group].
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to enhance learning and stimulate student curiosity.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular, constructive feedback.
  • Encourage and motivate students to develop a love of science, critical thinking skills, and a sense of inquiry.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continued improvement of the department.
  • Take part in extracurricular science-related activities and school events, where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • A qualified teacher with a degree in Science or a related field (QTS or equivalent required).
  • Proven experience teaching Science at [relevant key stage/age group].
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and assessment strategies.
  • Passion for science and the ability to inspire students to achieve excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiastic, motivated, and able to adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • A commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Enhanced DBS check (required).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
