Cover Supervisor – Stockport

Location: Stockport
Pay: £90 - £110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-time, temporary (with potential for long-term placement)

A secondary school in Stockport is seeking a Cover Supervisor to support with planned and unplanned staff absences. This role is ideal for graduates considering a career in teaching or individuals with experience working with young people in an educational setting.

Role Overview:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons across various subjects in the absence of teaching staff.
  • Maintain classroom discipline, ensuring students stay engaged and on task.
  • Support students with their work, answering questions, and providing guidance where necessary.
  • Assist in school-wide duties such as break and lunchtime supervision.
  • Gain valuable classroom experience, ideal for those considering teacher training.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young people in an educational or mentoring capacity is desirable.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • A degree or relevant qualification is advantageous but not essential.
  • An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
