Future Teachers Programme – Graduate Internship

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for education and considering a career as a secondary school teacher? Teaching Personnel’s Future Teachers Graduate Scheme offers a paid, hands-on route into teaching, providing vital school-based experience before progressing to a PGCE or Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme.

Programme Overview

The Future Teachers Programme is a 12-month internship designed to give graduates a comprehensive insight into teaching. You will work as a Cover Supervisor, supporting students and teachers within your specialist subject area. This experience will help you develop key teaching skills and prepare you for formal teacher training.

Start Date: September 2025 (Immediate starts available)

Location: Secondary schools across Greater Manchester, including Manchester, Stockport, Salford, Trafford, Bury, Bolton, Rochdale, and Oldham.

What Does the Role Involve?

Throughout the year, you will work closely with teachers and students in your subject specialism, gaining real classroom experience by:

• Supporting Student Learning: Helping pupils improve their attainment, particularly in Maths, Science, History, or Religious Studies.
• Delivering Small-Group Tuition: Providing targeted academic support.
• Assisting with Lesson Planning and Preparation.
• Covering Classes and Supporting Pupils with Special Needs.

This is a full-time role (Monday – Friday, 8:15am – 3:00pm) designed to give you a solid foundation before transitioning into formal teacher training.

• Can commit to the programme full-time from September 2025 to July 2026.
