About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students both 1:1 and in small groups to help them overcome learning barriers and achieve academic success. This role is perfect for individuals with a background in education, youth work, or those looking to gain classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing tailored support to students with additional learning needs.
  • Assisting in the development and delivery of engaging learning activities.
  • Supporting students with literacy, numeracy, and social development.
  • Collaborating with teachers and SENCOs to implement individual learning plans.
  • Helping to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people in an educational or support setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • AN Enhanced DBS check and on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and learning difficulties.
  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare.
