The Role

A popular and oversubscribed school in Wavertree is seeking to appoint a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP). The pupil requires significant SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) support, particularly in the area of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH).

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching and senior staff to deliver tailored support programmes for the pupil. This will involve working both within the classroom and in other settings around the school, and on occasion, you may also support other pupils. The role will require close collaboration with the teacher and the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to identify the pupil’s specific needs, address barriers to learning, and monitor their attainment and progress.

Previous experience supporting a child with an EHCP on a 1:1 basis would be beneficial. However, any relevant experience working with children or adults with significant needs will be taken into consideration.
