Job Title: Secondary School Behaviour Mentor
Location: Liverpool
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience (£90 - £100 per day)
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Temporary

Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome behavioural challenges to succeed in education?

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a Behaviour Mentor to work in a secondary school setting. This role is ideal for individuals who have experience in youth work, mentoring, or supporting students with behavioural needs.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students displaying challenging behaviour.
  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and SEN departments to implement behavioural strategies.
  • Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and learning.
  • Support students in managing their emotions and developing coping mechanisms.
  • Promote a positive school environment by reinforcing good behaviour and implementing intervention plans.
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group support sessions.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to provide holistic support for students.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people in an educational, mentoring, or youth work setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with students.
  • Ability to de-escalate situations and implement behaviour management strategies.
  • A relevant qualification in education, psychology, social work, or a related field (desirable but not essential).
  • An enhanced DBS check and on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
