Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Stockport

Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Stockport. This full-time position is available for an immediate start and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent contract depending on performance. The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.

Role Overview

This role is ideal for a recent Humanities graduate with a degree in History, Geography, Religious Education, or a related subject. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students’ learning across the Humanities department, both in the classroom and in small-group settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering engaging Humanities lessons, ensuring students remain focused and understand key concepts.
  • Small Group and One-to-One Interventions: Provide additional support for students who may need help in specific areas, such as history, geography, or religious studies.
  • Resource Preparation: Help prepare and organise teaching materials to enhance lesson delivery.
  • Exam and Coursework Support: Assist students with preparing for assessments, helping them improve their subject knowledge and confidence.
  • Behaviour and Learning Support: Encourage positive behaviour and support students in overcoming learning challenges.
  • Progress Tracking: Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers to inform planning and interventions.

What We Are Looking For

  • A Degree in Humanities or a Related Field: History, Geography, Religious Studies, or similar.
  • Passion for Education: A genuine interest in working with young people and helping them succeed academically.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to engage with students of all abilities.
  • Adaptability and Resilience: Comfortable supporting students with varying levels of confidence and understanding.
  • Experience Working with Young People (Desirable but Not Essential): This could include school settings, youth work, or volunteering experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
