Cover Supervisor & Teaching Assistant – Stockport (Secondary School)

Location: Stockport
Salary: £85 - £110 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Temporary (Potential for Permanent)
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

A well-established secondary school in Stockport is seeking a versatile and proactive Cover Supervisor & Teaching Assistant to join their team. This dual role provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience, whether you’re an aspiring teacher, a graduate, or someone with previous experience in education.

Role Responsibilities:

• Cover supervision – Deliver pre-planned lessons and supervise classes in the absence of the teacher, ensuring continuity in students’ learning.
• Classroom support – Work closely with teachers to assist students with their studies, helping them stay engaged and focused.
• Behaviour management – Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment, ensuring school policies are followed.
• One-to-one and small group support – Provide targeted academic and pastoral support for students who require additional guidance.
• Collaboration with staff – Work as part of a dedicated team, supporting teachers and the wider school community.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with young people (in education, youth work, tutoring, coaching, or similar roles).
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Adaptability and confidence to lead a classroom independently.
• A degree or relevant qualification (desirable but not essential).
• A proactive, enthusiastic, and supportive approach to working with students.
