English Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Stockport

Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic English Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Stockport. This full-time position is available for an immediate start and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming a permanent role based on performance. The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.

Role Overview

This role is ideal for an English graduate or someone with a strong background in English literature or language, who is eager to gain experience in a secondary school setting. As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students in developing their literacy skills, contribute to English lessons, and work closely with the English department to improve learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Classroom Support: Assist the class teacher in delivering English lessons, ensuring students remain engaged and understand key concepts.
• Small Group and One-to-One Interventions: Work with students who need additional help with reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
• Resource Preparation: Help prepare and organise teaching materials to enhance lessons.
• Exam and Coursework Assistance: Support students in their preparation for GCSE and other assessments, helping them develop strong analytical and writing skills.
• Behaviour and Learning Support: Ensure a positive learning environment, helping students stay focused and motivated.
• Progress Tracking: Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers to inform lesson planning and support strategies.
