Graduate Cover Supervisor – Full-Time Role
Location: Levenshulme
Contract: Full-time, starting after Easter until the end of the academic year
Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week

Teaching Personnel is seeking a confident and enthusiastic Graduate Cover Supervisor to join a Good Ofsted-rated secondary school in Levenshulme. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who are considering a career in education, whether as a teacher or in a pastoral role, and are looking to gain valuable classroom experience.

The Role:

As a Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher. You will deliver pre-prepared lesson materials, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure students remain engaged with their work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising whole classes across a range of subjects, ensuring students stay on task and follow lesson plans set by the teacher.
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies and promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Providing support to students who require additional help with their work.
  • Delivering instructions clearly and ensuring students understand their tasks.
  • Responding to student queries and providing guidance as needed.
  • Liaising with teaching staff to provide feedback on student engagement and behaviour.
  • Covering lessons across different departments, offering flexibility and adaptability in the role.
  • Supporting the wider school community with additional duties, such as lunchtime supervision or assisting in extracurricular activities.
  • Upholding safeguarding and child protection policies to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a Graduate who:

  • Holds a degree in any subject and has a keen interest in education.
  • Is confident in leading a classroom and managing student behaviour.
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Has experience working with young people in an educational or mentoring capacity (preferred but not essential).
  • Is adaptable, resilient, and able to think on their feet in a classroom setting.
  • Has a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training will be provided).
