Maths Specialist Cover Supervisor – Full-Time Role
Location: Levenshulme
Contract: Full-time, starting ASAP until the end of the academic year
Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week

Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Maths Specialist Cover Supervisor to join a highly regarded secondary school in Levenshulme. Rated Good by Ofsted, the school is looking for an individual with a strong background in Mathematics to support the department and supervise lessons in the absence of regular teaching staff. This role is an excellent opportunity for Maths graduates or individuals passionate about the subject who are looking to gain classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching.

The Role:

As a Maths Specialist Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of learning within the classroom. Your primary responsibility will be to supervise lessons, ensuring students stay on task and follow the lesson plans provided by the teacher. You will also be responsible for managing classroom behaviour and creating a positive learning environment. While planning and marking work are not required, you will be expected to facilitate student engagement and offer general guidance throughout lessons.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising Maths lessons, ensuring that students complete the pre-set work.
  • Managing classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies.
  • Providing guidance and support to students during lessons.
  • Encouraging enthusiasm for Mathematics and fostering a productive learning atmosphere.
  • Reporting lesson progress, engagement, and any incidents to the relevant teaching staff.
  • Covering lessons in other subjects when required, maintaining a consistent and structured learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a degree in Maths or a related subject.
  • Has a strong passion for Mathematics and education.
  • Can confidently manage classroom behaviour and maintain a focused learning environment.
  • Is adaptable and able to work across different year groups and subjects if needed.
  • Has experience working with young people (in schools, tutoring, mentoring, or other educational settings), though full training will be provided.
