Job description

Job Title: English and Maths GCSE LAC Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, South Woodham Ferrers

Job Type:

Temporary, Part-Time

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide tutoring in English and Maths to Looked After Children (LAC) preparing for their GCSE exams
  • Create and implement personalised learning plans
  • Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Provide feedback to students and their guardians on performance
  • Collaborate with school staff and social workers to support students' educational needs

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with Looked After Children
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching English and Maths at GCSE level

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the GCSE curriculum for English and Maths
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to tailor teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Organisational skills to track student progress and adjust lesson plans accordingly

Working Conditions:

This role involves working part-time hours on a temporary basis, providing tutoring services to Looked After Children in English and Maths. The work will be conducted in educational settings, collaborating with school staff and social workers to support student learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
