Job description

Job Title: GCSE Outreach Tutor

Location: Essex, Chelmsford

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Deliver high-quality English and Maths GCSE tutoring to students, following the UK curriculum
  • Create tailored lesson plans and instructional materials to meet the individual learning needs of students
  • Provide ongoing feedback and support to help students improve their academic performance using our platform LEAP
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school administrators to ensure a holistic approach to student learning

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching English and Maths at the GCSE level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their academic potential

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the GCSE curriculum for English and Maths
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of individual learners
  • Proficient in using educational technology and resources to enhance teaching and learning

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time role with flexible hours
  • Travel to learners homes, local libraries or schools to deliver tuition sessions on a 1:1 basis
  • Work closely with students, parents, and school staff in various educational settings

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
