Job description

Job Title: English and Maths KS3 SEMH Outreach Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Harlow

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide English and Maths tutoring to Key Stage 3 students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons tailored to the individual learning requirements of each student
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to ensure a holistic approach to student support
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialist knowledge in English and Maths curriculum at Key Stage 3 level
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in teaching English and Maths at Key Stage 3 level
  • Experience in providing outreach support to students with SEMH needs

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of SEMH and its impact on learning
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective management techniques

Working Conditions:

  • Part-Time hours, flexible schedule
  • Work primarily in educational settings, including learners homes, community centres
  • Collaborative work environment with school staff and parents

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
