Job description

Job Title: English and Maths KS3 SEN Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Harlow

Job Type:

Temporary, Part-Time

£20 - £30 per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths tutoring to Key Stage 3 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Create individualised learning plans to support student progress and development
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to enhance student understanding and achievement
  • Assess student learning needs and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for students

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialist knowledge in English and Maths curriculum for Key Stage 3
  • Experience working with students with SEN

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in a SEN setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies and practises
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Organisational skills to manage lesson planning and student progress effectively

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time hours, flexible schedule
  • Working with learners in their homes, care homes, schools or local libraries

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
