A fast-improving and expanding all-through Foundation Special School in Oxford is seeking a committed and organized Office Administrator to join their permanent team starting in January 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a vibrant school community dedicated to providing exceptional support for pupils with special educational needs.
About the Role
The Office Administrator will be an integral part of the school’s operational team, ensuring the smooth running of daily administrative functions. Working closely with the senior leadership team, teaching staff, and other support staff, the successful candidate will help maintain efficient systems to support the school’s ongoing growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day administrative tasks, including correspondence, record-keeping, and scheduling.
- Serve as a first point of contact for parents, visitors, and external agencies, delivering excellent customer service.
- Maintain pupil and staff records with confidentiality and accuracy, in compliance with data protection regulations.
- Support the school’s financial administration, including managing invoices and procurement processes.
- Assist with organizing meetings, school events, and communications to ensure effective information sharing.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support a positive and inclusive school environment.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven experience in office administration, preferably within an educational or similar environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and school management systems (experience with SIMS or Arbor is an advantage).
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- An understanding of or willingness to learn about the needs of pupils with special educational needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
