An expanding and forward-thinking all-through Foundation Special School in Oxford is seeking a dedicated Home School Liaison Worker to join their permanent team starting in January 2025.

Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a primary point of contact between families and the school, fostering strong, positive relationships.
- Support students and families to overcome barriers to learning, attendance, and engagement.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance parental involvement and collaboration in their child’s education.
- Provide guidance and signposting to families for accessing support services and community resources.
- Work collaboratively with staff, external agencies, and professionals to promote student well-being.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to the school’s safeguarding and child protection protocols.
Requirements for the Role:
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within an educational or social care setting.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by families of children with special educational needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build trust with diverse groups of people.
- A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
- A good knowledge of relevant safeguarding policies and procedures.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A relevant qualification in social work, education, family support, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
- Flexibility to work some evenings or weekends to accommodate family schedules and school events, when required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
