1-1 Learning Support Assistants – SEMH & SEND School, Wirral

About the School:

We are working with a dedicated SEMH and Special Educational Needs school in the Wirral that provides a nurturing and structured environment to help students thrive. The school is committed to ensuring every child reaches their full potential through tailored support, intervention strategies, and a caring approach.

The Role:

We are looking for experienced 1-1 Learning Support Assistants to join the team. In this role, you will work closely with students who have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), providing them with the individualized support they need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with SEND on a one-to-one basis.
  • Helping students manage and overcome behavioural challenges.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships to break down barriers to learning.
  • Collaborating with teachers and support staff to create a safe, engaging learning environment.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with SEND, particularly those with SEMH needs.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations.
  • A patient, empathetic, and supportive nature.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to helping students succeed academically and personally.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
