Are you a caring and resilient Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are working with a welcoming and inclusive school in Southampton seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

Location: Southampton
Start Date: September 2025
Position: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Pay: £13.75 P/H


The Role:

As a SEN TA, you will support students with a range of additional needs such as autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. You'll work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to deliver tailored interventions and classroom support.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support

  • Help implement EHCP targets and personalised strategies

  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour

  • Assist with classroom tasks and learning resources

  • Build positive relationships with pupils and staff


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN (in school, care, or support settings)

  • A calm, patient and adaptable nature

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine passion for helping every child succeed

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
