Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Southampton (Start: September 2025)

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a welcoming and supportive school community in Southampton this September.

Salary: £13.75 P/H

About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning challenges. Your role will be vital in helping each child thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support

  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Help with personal care and mobility needs (if required)

  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families

About You:

  • Experience working with children with SEN (in a school or similar setting)

  • Patient, resilient, and empathetic

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Certificate) are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
