SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs to assist with their success to learn? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Teaching Personnel are recruiting for SEN Teaching assistants to work in several primary schools in Trafford Greater Manchester.

 
The Role

  •  Work closely with children aged 5-11 who have a range of SEN, assisting them to develop their skills to enable them to progress
  • Be part of a team creating an inclusive and supportive environment that fosters their mental, academic and social development
  • Assist in pupils social, health and hygiene development.


 
The Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to children across the school, helping them to achieve their learning goals
  • Develop and build relationships with the students, staff and family members.
  • Constant and consistent communication with the class teacher, regarding progress and potential methods of work.
  • Create a secure and positive environment for the child to learn and feel comfortable.
  • Assist with personal care and any specific needs that may arise during the school day

Experience:

  • Have an up-to-date DBS on the update service or dated within the last 12 months.
  • Preferably hold a teaching assistant qualification or health and social care (level 2 or 3).
  • Experience working with SEN children preferably in a Primary school setting or care support setting
  • Be patient, caring, and adaptable, with a positive attitude towards learning
  • Have good communication skills and able to collaborate with teachers and other staff.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
