Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are looking for Teaching Assistants with SEN experience to support pupils academic learning, social development, and self-esteem building and encouraging pupils to develop skills.


The Candidate
Are you a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant who can provide exceptional support to students with special educational needs in school settings across Greater Manchester? Is this an opportunity for you?

Responsibilities/experience

  • Have a minimum Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare or Teaching Assistance.
  • Experience supporting students with SEN, preferably in a primary school setting.
  • Support the class teacher during lesson
  • Ability to work on a 1:1 basis with SEN pupils.
  • Be proactive with an adaptable approach to classroom support.
  • A good understanding of SEN needs and the ability to implement effective support strategies.
  • Assist with personal care as required.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new DBS check.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
