Job Position: 1:1 SEN TA

Start Date: Immediate

Pay Rate: £89.44 - £105 per day

Location: Wigan

Contract: Full time, Temporary (With opportunity to progress to a permanent position)

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Specialised Teaching Assistant role for an SEN School in the Wigan area. This role requires a candidate with experience in supporting students on a 1:1 basis with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and ADHD, as this will be your main role in the position. You will be required to manage behaviour effectively, using consistent routines to provide stability for each individual student you work with, as well as ensuring that each child feels supported and encouraged.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working with children who have special educational needs
  • Obtain a DBS check registered on the update service or a willingness to obtain one
  • Be adaptable, remain calm in challenging situations and respond accordingly to the needs of pupils
  • Have an excellent understanding of safeguarding procedures and behavioural policies
  • Have an empathetic approach to working with young children
  • Be enthusiastic and have a hands on approach to helping pupils achieve their goals
  • Maintain excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children, parents and colleagues.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
