Teaching Personnel are recruiting a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant for a client Secondary School in Newport, South Wales. 

This is a full time role and will begin ASAP.  This role will be for the remainder of this academic year, with the successful applicant having an opportunity to continue in the next academic year too! (21/22)

Weekly Pay: GBP306 - GBP350

The school is looking for an individual that has prior experience supporting SEN needs, but you do not necessarily have had to have a role within a school before. 

You will be supporting individuals on a 1:1 basis within the schools SEN department.  The department you will be joining is a large, and very supportive department, with a team of 30+ support staff that will be able to offer support throughout your role.

You will be required to support the pupils both in lessons and by offering 1:1 interventions outside of lessons.

The ideal candidate will have experience/knowledge of supporting:

  • Autism
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Asperger's
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties

The Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service & EWC registered (We can help you apply for this!)
  • Strong academic background - Minimum of A*-C in English and Maths GCSE
  • Some experience supporting children or vulnerable adults 
  • Will be able to provide two references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
