Are you a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? We are a well-established Local Authority Specialist Secondary School in Crosby, Liverpool, committed to providing a nurturing and supportive learning environment for pupils aged 11-16 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Each student has an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) in place, tailored to meet their individual needs.

About the Role:

As a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our pupils to achieve academically, personally, and socially. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to deliver a curriculum that is both challenging and accessible, helping each student to reach their full potential. Your role will involve providing one-on-one and group support, assisting with lesson preparation, and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEND, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their individual goals.
  • Assist in the delivery of lessons and learning activities, ensuring they are adapted to meet the needs of each pupil.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where all pupils are encouraged to strive towards their best.
  • Support pupils in developing social skills, self-confidence, and independence, preparing them to be active and respectful members of the community.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to monitor and review each pupil's progress.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a SEN or similar setting is essential.
  • Empathy and Caring: A compassionate individual who is committed to supporting pupils with SEND to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Role Model: Able to set a positive example for pupils, encouraging them to develop respect for others and themselves.
  • Team Player: Able to work effectively as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
