Job Opportunity: Temporary Science Technician

Location: Rawtenstall, Lancashire

Working hours: 08:00am - 16:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and organise materials and equipment for practical science lessons.
• Assist teachers in the demonstration and setup of experiments, ensuring safety and accuracy.
• Maintain an orderly and safe laboratory environment, handling chemicals, biological samples, and other scientific materials.
• Manage and monitor stock levels, performing basic maintenance on lab equipment when required.

About You:

• A background in science (A-levels or equivalent qualification required; further education or experience in a scientific field is a plus).
• Experience working in a laboratory or educational setting is desirable.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• An understanding of health and safety protocols in a laboratory environment.
