Cover Supervisor - Chorley

Location: Chorley, Lancashire
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary
Start Date: January 2024

Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring that students remain engaged and on task with the pre-set work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and managing the behaviour of students in the classroom.
  • Delivering pre-prepared lessons and resources left by the absent teacher.
  • Assisting students with their work and responding to any questions.
  • Ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Reporting back to the absent teacher on the progress of the lesson and any issues that arose.
  • Adhering to the school’s policies and procedures, including those relating to safeguarding and child protection.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different subject areas.
  • A proactive and positive approach to supporting students’ learning.
  • A commitment to the ethos and values of the school.

Desirable:

  • A degree or relevant qualification.
  • Experience in a similar role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
