Job description

Science Teacher – Secondary School – Dukinfield – Full-Time Role Starting September

Teaching Personnel are seeking a committed and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join the Science department at a thriving, Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Dukinfield. This is a full-time teaching role starting from September, covering KS3 and KS4 Science. The school has a strong academic ethos, excellent leadership, and a supportive environment for staff and students alike.

Location: Dukinfield, Tameside
Start Date: September
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term
Pay: Paid in line with your scale (MPS/UPS)

The Role:

  • Deliver engaging Science lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Teach general Science, with potential to specialise in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics at KS4 depending on experience

  • Monitor pupil progress, providing timely feedback and interventions where needed

  • Contribute to the wider life of the Science department and whole school community

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification

  • Has experience teaching Science at secondary level

  • Passionate about Science and committed to inspiring young learners

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Able to differentiate lessons to suit a wide range of abilities

  • A team player with a proactive and flexible attitude

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
