Are you a psychology graduate with a passion for working with children? Do you want to apply your knowledge of human development, behaviour, and learning in a real-world educational setting? We are looking for Psychology Graduates to join our team as Teaching Assistants in primary schools across Bristol.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build your experience in education, support students with diverse learning needs, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll be working alongside classroom teachers to support the educational development of primary-aged children. Your role may include, but is not limited to:

  • Assisting with lesson delivery and classroom activities
  • Providing tailored support for children with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Helping children with emotional, social, and behavioural development
  • Supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis, including those with additional learning needs
  • Helping to implement strategies for positive behaviour management
  • Encouraging students to engage with the curriculum and fostering a love of learning
  • Supporting the teacher with classroom management and administration

As a psychology graduate, you’ll be well-equipped to understand and support the varying learning needs and behavioural challenges of young children, and your insights will be valuable in creating a nurturing and effective learning environment.

About You:

We’re looking for psychology graduates who are:

  • Passionate about working with children and supporting their learning and development
  • Interested in pursuing a career in education, psychology, or related fields
  • Patient, empathetic, and proactive, with a strong understanding of child development
  • Able to communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents
  • Highly adaptable and able to work in a range of school environments
  • Team players with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges

While previous experience in a classroom setting is desirable, we welcome applicants who are eager to gain hands-on experience and apply their psychology degree in an educational context.

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £38, plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
