Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting classroom teachers in delivering lessons and activities.
  • Assisting individual students or small groups, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN) or behavioural challenges.
  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all children can thrive.
  • Encouraging the development of social skills, emotional wellbeing, and positive behaviour.
  • Building strong, supportive relationships with students to boost their confidence and motivation.
  • Helping with administrative tasks such as preparing classroom resources and setting up activities.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous youth work experience (voluntary or professional) working with children or young people.
  • A passion for supporting children’s development in both educational and social contexts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, teachers, and parents.
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a strong commitment to making a difference in children’s lives.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
  • A desire to further develop your career in education and make an impact in the classroom.

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £ 49.50, plus an annual subscription fee of £16 for the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
