We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our supportive team at a special needs school in Winchester. The school caters to children with autism, physical disabilities, and complex medical needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners, providing vital support in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist children with autism and physical disabilities in their learning and daily activities.
• Provide personal care when neccessary, including assisting with mobility, feeding, and hygiene where necessary.
• Support students with their medical needs, following individual care plans.
• Work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement tailored educational programs.
• Encourage students’ independence and social development in a safe, supportive environment.
• Observe and report on students’ progress and well-being, ensuring their needs are met.
• Maintain a positive and proactive approach to behavior management.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN), preferably with autism, physical disabilities, or medical needs (desirable not essential)
• A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children.
• An understanding of personal care requirements and a willingness to provide assistance where needed.
• Ability to work well within a team, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other professionals.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• A flexible, proactive, and resilient attitude in a dynamic, diverse environment.
• A relevant qualification (e.g., Teaching Assistant, Care, or SEN-related qualification) is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
