Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our primary schools in Crawley, from January 2025 until July 2025.

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting multiple children across different year groups, each with varying additional learning needs. Your role will involve providing tailored support to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support for children with additional learning needs, ensuring individual progress and well-being.
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCO to implement strategies and support plans.
  • Help children with both academic tasks and social development.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
  • Assist in the preparation of resources and activities to support children’s learning.

Essential Skills and Qualities:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children and staff.
  • A proactive and patient approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children’s individual learning journeys.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, while also taking initiative when required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
