Job Title: English and Maths KS3 SEMH Intervention Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Brentwood

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced English and Maths KS3 SEMH Intervention Tutor to join our team in Brentwood, Essex. As a temporary part-time position, you will be responsible for providing targeted support to Key Stage 3 students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in English and Maths subjects.

Job Duties:

  • Deliver tailored English and Maths intervention sessions to KS3 students with SEMH needs
  • Create engaging lesson plans and educational materials to support individual student progress
  • Assess student learning needs and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
  • Collaborate with the wider education team to monitor student progress and adjust interventions as required
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievements, and areas for improvement

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • Demonstrated experience working with students with SEMH needs
  • Strong knowledge of the KS3 English and Maths curriculum

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar teaching role
  • Understanding of SEMH interventions and strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in SEMH support
  • Experience working in a special educational needs (SEN) environment

Working Conditions:

This role is based in Brentwood, Essex, and will require working part-time hours on a temporary basis. The working environment will involve direct interaction with Key Stage 3 students with SEMH needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
