Job description

Job Title: English and Maths KS3 LAC Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Rayleigh

Job Type:

Temporary, Part-Time hours

Salary:

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide one-to-one tutoring in English and Maths for Key Stage 3 Looked After Children (LAC)
  • Create individualised learning plans to meet the specific needs of each student
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Collaborate with school staff and social workers to support the educational development of LAC students
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
  • Experience working with Looked After Children
  • Strong knowledge of the KS3 English and Maths curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a similar role

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of child development and learning theories
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Proficiency in using technology to enhance learning outcomes
  • Experience working with vulnerable or disadvantaged students

Working Conditions:

This role involves working with vulnerable children and require background checks and safeguarding training. The tutor will primarily work during school hours and may need to travel between different educational settings.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
