Job Title: English and Maths GCSE SEN Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Colchester

Job Duties:

The English and Maths GCSE SEN Tutor will be responsible for providing tailored support and guidance to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) preparing for their English and Maths GCSE exams. Duties include creating individualised learning plans, delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and providing feedback to both students and parents/guardians. The Tutor will also collaborate with other educational professionals to ensure the academic success of SEN students.

Required Qualifications:

  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience working with students with SEN
  • Excellent knowledge of the English and Maths GCSE curriculum
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching and supporting students with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of SEN students
  • Knowledge of different learning styles and strategies
  • Strong organisation and time management skills

Working Conditions:

The English and Maths GCSE SEN Tutor will work in a learners home setting. The role may involve working part-time hours on a temporary basis. The Tutor will need to be flexible in their approach to accommodate the varying needs of SEN students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
