Job description

Job Title: English and Maths KS3 LAC Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, South Benfleet

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Part-Time hours

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths tutoring to Key Stage 3 Looked After Children (LAC)
  • Create engaging lesson plans to support individual learning needs
  • Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Collaborate with teachers and social workers to ensure holistic support for LAC
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with Looked After Children
  • Enhanced DBS check

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, preferably with LAC

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the KS3 English and Maths curriculum
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy and sensitivity towards the needs of Looked After Children

Working Conditions:

  • Part-Time hours, flexible scheduling
  • Work primarily with LAC in educational settings (learners homes, carehomes, local libraries)
  • Collaborative work environment with teachers and social workers

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
