English and Maths KS3 LAC Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Bicknacre

Job Type:

Temporary, Part-Time hours

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths tutoring to Key Stage 3 Looked After Children (LAC) in a one-on-one or small group setting
  • Create engaging lesson plans that cater to the individual learning needs and styles of each student
  • Track and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary to ensure academic improvement
  • Communicate effectively with social workers, teachers, and parents to provide comprehensive support for students
  • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student performance

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience working with Looked After Children (LAC) or vulnerable young people
  • Enhanced DBS check

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of teaching/tutoring experience

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the KS3 English and Maths curriculum
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organisational skills and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children in care
  • SEN experience or qualification

Working Conditions:

  • Part-Time hours, flexible schedule
  • Work primarily in a school or home environment
  • Potential travel to different locations within the East of England

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
