Job Title: English and Maths GCSE Intervention Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Brentwood

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 per hour

Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Provide one-on-one tutoring to students requiring intervention in English and Maths for GCSE exams
  • Create customised lesson plans to address specific learning needs
  • Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Communicate with parents/guardians to provide updates on student performance
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialisation in English and Maths education
  • Experience in delivering interventions to students

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in teaching English and Maths at the GCSE level
  • Proven track record of improving student performance

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the GCSE curriculum for English and Maths
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications in Special Education or Learning Support
  • Experience working with diverse student populations

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time hours, flexible schedule
  • Work primarily in a learners home or local venue 
  • May require travel to different locations within the East of England region

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
