Job description

Job Title: English and Maths GCSE SEN Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Wickford

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

The English and Maths GCSE SEN Tutor will be responsible for providing tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in English and Maths subjects. Duties include creating individualised learning plans, delivering engaging lessons, monitoring progress, and adapting teaching methods to suit the learning styles of each student.

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with students with SEN
  • Strong knowledge of the English and Maths GCSE curriculum

Education:

A degree in Education or relevant subject

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years teaching experience, preferably in SEN settings

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Strong organisational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs
  • Experience using assistive technology in the classroom

Working Conditions:

This role is part-time and temporary, requiring flexibility in working hours. The tutor will be based in Wickford, Essex, and may need to travel to different locations within the East of England region. The working environment will include classrooms, local community centres, local libraries and one-to-one tutoring sessions with students in their homes.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
