Functional Skills Tutor – Hyde (SK14)

Are you passionate about helping young learners achieve their goals? TP Tutors is seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to support pupils in Hyde (SK14) who are currently outside mainstream education.

We work with local authorities to provide 1:1 tuition for young people who face barriers such as medical, emotional or behavioural challenges. Your role will be to deliver focused lessons in English, Maths, and ICT, helping learners build the skills and confidence they need for their future.

Role Details:

  • Location: Hyde (SK14) and nearby areas

  • Pay: £25–£30 per hour

  • Hours: Flexible, Monday to Friday

  • Setting: Tuition takes place in the pupil’s home or a public setting such as a library

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Deliver engaging Functional Skills lessons tailored to individual needs

  • Plan and adapt learning programmes to suit different styles and abilities

  • Track progress and provide regular updates to parents, carers, and local authorities

  • Support a positive, inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive

What We’re Looking For:

  • Recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE or equivalent) or strong experience in delivering Functional Skills

  • Solid knowledge of English, Maths and ICT Functional Skills frameworks

  • Experience working with learners with additional needs is desirable

  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply)

  • Patient, adaptable and positive attitude to teaching

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
