Are you looking for a more meaningful and flexible way to use your experience in education or SEN support?

At TP Tutors, we’re recruiting dedicated and compassionate individuals in Rochdale (OL16) to work as 1:1 tutors supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) who are currently outside of mainstream education.

This is a fantastic opportunity to provide personalised, face-to-face support to pupils who may have autism, ADHD, anxiety or other learning needs. Tuition takes place either in the pupil’s home or in a public setting such as a local library, depending on what works best for them.

Why This Role is So Rewarding:

  • Work closely with pupils and see the direct impact you’re making

  • Support children who may not thrive in a traditional classroom environment

  • Help build confidence, structure, and academic progress at the pupil’s pace

  • Enjoy a more balanced working life with flexible hours and reduced pressure

What the Role Involves:

  • Delivering 1:1 tuition in Maths, English, or Primary subjects

  • Planning creative, engaging sessions tailored to each pupil’s needs

  • Supporting children with a range of SEN or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs

  • Building positive relationships that encourage learning and progress

  • Working in homes or local community venues in Rochdale (OL16)

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (as a teacher, TA, tutor, mentor or similar)

  • A patient, adaptable and encouraging approach to teaching

  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging sessions suited to each pupil

  • QTS is desirable, but we also welcome applications from those with equivalent experience

The Essentials:

  • Location: Rochdale (OL16)

  • Pay: £25–£30 per hour (paid weekly)

  • Availability: Flexible hours Monday to Friday, between 8am–4pm

If you’re ready to make a real difference in a child’s life and enjoy the flexibility of 1:1 tuition, apply now with your CV. Let’s help every pupil feel seen, supported, and confident in their learning.
