Job description

Make a Real Difference as a 1:1 Tutor in Tameside (OL6)

Have you recently stepped away from the classroom but still feel passionate about supporting young people? At TP Tutors, we offer the chance to use your skills in a more flexible, rewarding way—through 1:1 tuition that truly changes lives.

We’re looking for dedicated tutors in the Tameside (OL6) area to support children who are currently out of mainstream education. These pupils may face barriers such as anxiety, SEND or behavioural needs, and your role will be key in helping them re-engage with learning.

Tuition is delivered face-to-face, either in the pupil’s home or in a public space such as a library—whichever is most suitable and safe for the learner.

What You Can Expect:

  • £25–£30 per hour, paid weekly

  • Flexible hours between 8am–4pm, Monday to Friday

  • Minimal admin—focus on teaching, not paperwork

  • Local placements with the potential to build up to 5–6 hours per day

Your Role Will Involve:

  • Delivering personalised 1:1 tuition in English, Maths or Primary subjects

  • Planning engaging, tailored sessions to suit individual learning needs

  • Supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH or school refusal

  • Building confidence, routine and academic progress in a calm, nurturing setting

We’re Looking For:

  • QTS preferred, but we also welcome experienced TAs, tutors or mentors

  • Experience supporting children with additional needs

  • Confident in managing behaviour and creating a safe, positive environment

  • Reliable, patient and passionate about helping pupils succeed

This isn’t just a tutoring job—it’s a chance to make a real impact in your local community while enjoying the freedom and flexibility of 1:1 work.

If you’re based in or around Tameside (OL6) and ready to take the next step in your educational journey, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply now with your CV and help us support learners who need it most—one session at a time.
