Job description

Job Title: English and Maths GCSE Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Harlow

Job Type:

Temporary, Part-Time hours

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective English and Maths lessons to GCSE level students
  • Assess and monitor students' progress, providing feedback and support as needed
  • Develop tailored learning materials and resources to meet individual student needs
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievements, and progress
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure a supportive learning environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialism in English and Maths

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in English and Maths at GCSE level
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the GCSE curriculum and assessment requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students
  • Effective classroom management and behaviour support techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in special educational needs (SEN) support

Working Conditions:

  • Part-Time role, with flexible hours
  • Work in a classroom or tutoring environment
  • Potential travel to student's homes for tutoring sessions

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
