Job description

Job Title: English and Maths GCSE SEN Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Harlow

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide individualised English and Maths tutoring to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Create tailored lesson plans to meet the specific needs of each student
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other educational professionals
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs
  • Excellent knowledge of the English and Maths GCSE curriculum

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

At least 2 years of experience in teaching English and Maths to students with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of different learning styles and strategies
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organisational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training or certification in Special Educational Needs
  • Experience using assistive technology in the classroom

Working Conditions:

This role involves working closely with students in a classroom or one-on-one setting. The tutor may need to travel to different locations to provide tutoring services. The work hours are typically during regular school hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
