1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic Mainstream, Secondary school in the heart of Northamptonvrt. This esteemed institution is renowned for its commitment to providing outstanding support and education to students including those with additional needs.
The Inclusion offer is delivered by the SENDCO team, the Inclusion Hub (which includes our provision for students with English as an Additional Language), in- class support with reasonable adjustments, and a focus on quality first teaching to provide scaffolding and ensure a positive and enriching learning environment and experience for all their students. Our SEND team possess a wide range of expertise and a plethora of skills. This team comprises of an Assistant Principal for Inclusion, a SENDCO and two Deputy SENDCOs, in addition to 10 widely and diversely experienced Teaching Assistants.
Personal Specification –Teaching Assistant - SEN
-Recent graduate in any discipline; Psychology, Sociology, and Criminology graduates are particularly encouraged to apply.
-While experience in a similar role is advantageous, candidates with relevant qualifications or a strong interest in SEN are encouraged to apply.
- Enthusiastic, reliable, and empathetic.
- Passionate and dedicated to making an impact.
- Experience working with children or adults with Autisim, ADHD or learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special educational needs in the classroom and during other school activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to reinforce learning and development.
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and record students’ progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support students’ needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
